Pat Farrell joined Phillips Academy in 2004 after nine years at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics, where he designed the school’s math curriculum. He has taught math at all levels of the Andover curriculum and served on the faculties of (MS)2 and the ACE (Accelerate, Challenge, Enrich) scholars program. Through much of his career, Farrell has coached competitive math teams and individual students to regional and national success. A former house counselor and assistant track coach, he has also spent numerous spring breaks traveling with students on service missions to rural South Carolina. He has developed workshops, resources, and guides for teachers, and served as a reader and scorer for Advanced Placement exams. He now serves as Dean of Faculty and lives in Weld House with his wife Karen and dogs Jack and Daisy. He enjoys numerous outdoor activities with a particular fondness for the mountains and lakes of Maine and the beaches of Rhode Island.
